Moon Magic.

It is vital for me to feel connected with nature. One of the many ways I like to do this is with Moon Magick.

I often centre my spell work around the moon phases, it just gives them more focus for me.

It’s been a funny few weeks around here and I am really looking forward to tomorrow’s full moon.

A Full / New Moon is a perfect time for releasing anything that no longer serves us.

Anything at all that you would like to let go of. Emotional pain, physical pain, the need to control, food issues, negative self talk, bad relationships, absolutely anything.

I’m going to share with you a lovely little full moon ritual I always try to do.

Regardless of any religious or spiritual beliefs, anyone can enjoy and benefit from this. It is great just to clear your mind.

I like to keep it simple. It leaves space for your intentions, your emotions.

It doesn’t take long at all to do this and I find setting aside this time is a lovely way to give yourself focus for the rest of the month.

Tools needed.

Pen and Paper

Lighter/ matches

Somewhere to burn your paper. I sometimes use our open fire or a pan, depending where in the house I am doing this.

Sometimes I do this outside, which is even better.

Candles, etc. Anything (if anything!) you would like to create your space. This definitely isn’t necessary, all that is required is your intention to let go…..

The Ritual.

1. Create your space.

This can look different for everyone.

For me I find a peaceful spot in the house/outdoors I won’t be disturbed.

I light a candle.

I light some sage, to cleanse the area. Sometimes I may choose an oracle card for focus. Whatever feels good for you.

2. Have your pen and paper ready.

Take a moment to breathe, nice full deep breaths. Fill your body with oxygen. Centre yourself.

Think about what you want to let go of.

If this summons up negative feelings, don’t worry, don’t try and suppress or change them. Feel them. Think about the negative impact they are having on your life.

Write it down.

You can read these aloud if you like or read over them in your head.

Burn the paper!

It may feel good to shout Be Gone (I don’t incase I wake the kids up!)

Do whatever feels good for you…

As the paper burns, visualise for a moment, longer if you wish, how you will feel without these burdens.

Happier, lighter? Feel it! Really feel it. Feel the relief you will feel as these burdens leave you.

3. Gratitude.

Give thanks.

For me I am thankful to the universe, the moon, for offering me this opportunity to let go.

Give thanks in whatever way feels comfortable to you, this can be so many things, go with how you feel. It may be that you make a promise to care for yourself better. You make give an actual physical to the earth, seeds for the birds, etc. Nurture your plants, whatever feels right….

It is done!

This is really simple and you can elaborate on this as much as you like. This works great for me.

I also find this is an amazing ritual to do with a loved one/ friend/ group.

I like to do this with Dan (my husband) sometimes. It’s great for letting things go together as a couple.

It is also great to do as a family. Especially if you want to introduce your children to magical practices.

It can be a great tool to connect with them and a way for them to open up about any fears/ worries they may have.

I’ll be doing this tomorrow evening….

Happy Full Moon πŸŒ•

Love this post! I’ve always been drawn to the moon but felt the need to keep it quiet for fear of folk thinking I’m a lunatic πŸ˜‚ pun intended – I’ve really learned the past few years to stand up for what I like dislike and believe it. If it harms none and all that… lovely post and the ritual is a beautiful idea πŸ’š

Lovely post. I find that my mood/energy can be affected by the different phases of the moon – lots of energy/feeling upbeat during waxing; not much energy/feeling a bit melancholy during waning.

    1. Yes same here…I feel much better/clear headed after the full moon last night.
